Welcome to the 21st Century!
So, this is what it's like to be online as a blogger! I've read others' blogs, had fun getting a peak into their lives, but never really considered doing it myself. I mean, really - is my life interesting enough or am I witty enough to actually have a blog? Well, I guess we'll see...
These are interesting times for me...lots of stressful things going on, but I'm sure not unique things! I work for a company that is being uniquely impacted by the downturn in the housing market - Stock Building Supply. I'm sure many have seen info about us in the news lately as we just posted our FY08 numbers. It's a stressful time for all of us as we work to focus our energies to get us through this tough economic times. Stock really is a great company to work for and I'm determined that I'll still be working here when (if?) the economic turn-around comes! On the plus side, I'm excited because I am working on Stock's new eBusiness initiative and managing our online store, ShopStockSupply. This allows me to be creative while at the same time focus on bringing in additional sales for the company.
Other stressful stuff - my mom goes in for surgery tomorrow to have her second stint put in her neck. Last time around, about 2 years ago, the blockage she had in her neck and the associated surgeries kicked off a very scary period that ended in her having a stroke and spending several weeks in the hospital, with some very "iffy" times! So, none of our family is looking forward to this again - especially my mom! This time around the doctors are going at it from a different perspective, so it's unlikely that anything will go wrong, but it's still stressful.
Actually, my daughter is really a joy! She's a smart 6 year old (soon to be 7 on October 11th) and a lot of fun to be around. She has a GREAT sense of humor and is pretty witty, so she is constantly making me and her dad laugh with her jokes, sarcasm, performances and dry humor! She's a cutie!
So anyway, more about me later... :)
